Companies That Buy Shipping Containers

Friday, 27th April 2012

People buy containers for all sorts of reasons, many for additional secure storage, and others for bespoke uses. From time to time circumstances change and you may find yourself in the situation where you need to sell a shipping container .

The best way to sell a container is to take a few photos both inside and out, either on your phone or with a digital camera. This way you can email them to anyone looking to buy and they can make an offer based on the condition. The buyer will also need to know where the box is located geographically, as the cost to pick it up and take it back to their nearest storage depot will need to be factored in.

Something else to keep in mind is how the buyer will collect it. It's usually pretty obvious that if the unit was delivered and offloaded by a hiab type, crane mounted trailer, it can be picked up too. There are situations though where this isn't always the case. If there have been any modifications for example such as container conversions then this is something you should consider. It could be that the work undertaken now means the unit cannot be lifted and transported as easily. Additional weight or protrusions from the container may also have a bearing on whether or not it can picked up and returned to a depot.

We are often asked the question who buys containers? Well a good place to start is with a reputable storage and repair depot that will be able to arrange a price and have the equipment collected on time, avoiding time wasters that promise the earth but do very little.
