Storage In Demand

Monday, 6th July 2009
The need for secure self storage in London is increasing due to many factors. With such expensive land costs in the U.K developers are looking to maximise any potential from plots which often means reduced storage space in many new build flats and houses. People are leading busier and more active lives, at times garages are filled with sporting equipment leaving little room for anything else. Statistics show young adults are also now opting to stay longer with their parents, putting more pressure on space. Local self storage can provide the answer for all those things you don’t use every day but can’t bring yourself to throw away. Self storage containers are also proving to be very popular with entrepreneurs looking to take advantage of the cheaper cost of goods and manufacturing abroad by importing products to the U.K for sale. Quite often loaded containers from places such as China are delivered straight to our facility in Essex, for storage, and the goods distributed from here. This reduces the need for additional premises or permanent warehousing. Businesses are also looking towards temporary storage as a means of reducing overheads. With the current economic situation many companies are reluctant to sign leases for new shops and warehouses, or additional premises for new lines or seasonal stock and are turning to self storage for the flexibility it offers. Some are even deciding to run their business from home safe in the knowledge that their goods are being stored in a secure and accessible environment without the commitment of a long lease, rates, staff, security and all the hassle that goes with running your own premises.
