Containers revolutionise the self storage industry

Tuesday, 12th January 2010
With the increase in land costs in and around London blue chip, local government and smaller businesses have been looking for a way of keeping over heads down. With the availability of many different sizes of self storage containers to rent on a short term or long term basis, a much cheaper option per square foot is provided, compared with renting or leasing a large storage unit or building. With containerised storage units the customers are given much greater flexibility, and are able to increase and decrease the amount of storage space needed without having to change premises or keep stocks in different locations. Each storage container is located at our site in River Road, Barking, which a short drive from the centre of London, making it ideal for companies looking for archive storage where office space is restricted. With the ability to also store goods in temperature controlled environments in the sizes of 20ft x 8ft x 8.5ft and 40ft x 8ft x 8.5ft , this also gives companies looking to store temperature sensitive goods an option. The containerised self storage market has also been rising in demand due to the housing market becoming more active and people needing to store house hold goods while they are waiting to move. Standard shipping containers have also been converted and modified into units that can be purpose built to fit certain trailers. Extras such as side access doors and internal lashing bars for the fixing of cargo while the unit is in transit can be added, this gives removal companies a greater flexibility compared to using standard rigid lorry bodies.
