New Film Being Released Set In London Storage Facility

Wednesday, 27th June 2012

Storage 24 is a new horror film written and produced by Noel Clarke, who also stars in the film. This movie is set in a storage facility in London and is set for release in UK cinemas June 29th. Unlike many movies featuring storage companies it has not been filmed inside a shipping container depot but instead a purpose built facility.

The plot involves a military plane which crashes carrying an alien predator. This beast seeks refuge inside the premises of Storage 24 causing London to go into panic. The alien has company inside though with best friends Nikki (Laura Haddock) and Shelly (Antonia Campbell Hughes) alongside a tramp, played by Ned Dennehy, that has been living inside one of the storage units. The location is a little less dramatic than the Spaceship in Alien or jungle in Predator but remains a novel conversion from the usual format.

Apparently the plot takes a predictable turn with the alien setting about those inside (and a few visitors) one by one, as they attempt to fight back with anything lying around. I would imagine there is nothing new here and this film will no doubt play second fiddle to other recent releases such as Prometheus.

Similar to movies filmed inside shipping containers there is only so much scope with the setting based in a storage company in London. It will probably be harmless fun but maybe one worth waiting to watch at home rather than rushing to the cinema.
